From the perspective of the puny mortal mind, something
super is happening this Sunday. If you’re someone like me who was raised on the
streets of San Francisco and left his heart there, but raised a family here in
the Peoples’ Republic of Maryland, then today is full of hope and
anticipation. When the Ravens clash with
the 49ers today, I’ll be perfectly happy hoping for both sides. Both teams have reached the pinnacle of success
and are the epitome of athletic excellence.
When it comes to the all-consuming and distracting sport of football,
there is no game more inspiring and entertaining than this year’s Super Bowl.
Our Heavenly Father, however, has a different perspective on
this day. He sees many of His beloved young
men in wards across the world exercising their Priesthood; the power to act in
the name of God. This same power, which created worlds and destroyed armies, will
be entrusted to 12-17-year old boys. These young men could move
mountains and cure cancer if it was the will of God to do so.
So… is this a Super Sunday?
I guess it depends on your perspective.
You are so eloquent.....and I really enjoyed your testimony this morning....
