It's easy to say “I love you.” For example- I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. There- I just said it several times in under a few seconds. It's much harder, however, to HEAR “I love you.” After all, based on my favorite quote fm Elder Oaks, “What you hear is more important than what I say,” developing the ability to hear “I love you” is paramount
I have to admit I'm pretty proud about my amazing ability to hear “I love you.” For example, below is just a sample of a few instances where my wife may have said one thing, but I was able to hear another: ”I love you:”
“Drive safely!”
“Have a great day at work!”
“Thank you for locking the door.”
“You've worked hard today; you should be able to sit on your butt, eat popcorn, and watch TV if you want to.”
“You must be tired; do you want me to drive?”
“You are a fathead (pronounced fahhey)!”
You did a good job of cleaning the kitchen!”
“Honey, let me trim your hair.”
“We miss you! Hurry home!”
“Let's go shopping for a Kindle Fire.”
“We ordered General Tsao's chicken; I know it's your favorite.”
“Where would you like to eat for lunch?”
“I'm sorry you had a tough day at work. Welcome home!”
'You need to get to bed earlier; let me put your clothes away for you”
“Thanks for cleaning the catbox! You know how much I hate it... “
What have you heard lately?
