I See... The First Thought You Think When You Wake Up in the Morning

What is the first thought you think when you wake up in the morning? If you were born before 1960, then it's probably “what is this pain in my back?” or “what is that gross taste in my mouth?” “Did I forget to brush my teeth last night?” or even “where are my teeth?”

Our first thoughts can set our sights for the rest of the day. They can frame our reference and direct our desires, First thoughts, our very, very, very first thoughts, link the subconscious with conscience and hence possess miraculous power to determine our daily destiny.

A first thought is a terrible thing to waste. A happy, fulfilling marriage relationship is nothing more than a successful string of days where either or both of you woke up on the right side of the bed. If you desire to stay on your spouse's right side for the rest of the day, I recommend the following mind control mantra: let your very first thought, before you think about the lump in your bedspring or the penetrating sound waves of a hated alarm clock, be “ how can I serve my wife today?” “How can I serve my husband today?”

Train your mind to boot up every morning with this thought, and soon you'll find yourself serving each other just because you're in love, and not because the unwritten rules of marriage may require it.
