The Mormon Third Eye went dark on yesterday, Sunday, May 27th
2012. For the first time in 251 Sundays, I did not post. Why?
I wanted to make a point about eternal priorities and
perspective, and those who find significance in patterns will find this
important.
I love to blog. Writing is my favorite hobby. It provides a
productive release valve for the mix of seemingly oddball ideas trapped in my
head. However, it is only a hobby. On the other hand, my wife is my life. She is my reason for living. When I stand before my Savior to account for the
accomplishments of my life, he will want to know how well I treated my eternal
companion. My dedication to contributing
to this blog every week will be way, way down on the list. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it never
made the list.
Last weekend we celebrated 28 years of an enduring marriage relationship
with a short, relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. Weekend plans did not include time to post on
MTE. I was too busy spending time with the wife of my life.
Family comes first. Everything
else is fluff, including the Mormon Third Eye.
252 more Sundays from now, when readers reminisce about that one Sunday
when the MTE went dark, they will be reminded how vitally important their own
spouses and families are.
Congrats on 28 years!
ReplyDeleteI love that you too put family first. Congratulations on your 28 years. I read a post (about the dollhouse at Christmas for Anna) to my husband today. My 18 and 20 year old were in the room and had a few things to add to the conversation. I love my family, I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I'm enjoying reading some of your posts tooday. May God bless your family. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
ReplyDeleteLatenightstamper,
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. Really.
