I See... When You are Smarter Than a Donkey

Are you smarter than a donkey? And why is this important to know at Christmas?

When Isaiah prophesies of the Savior in Isaiah 1:3, he implies that while barnyard animals such as donkeys acknowledge the divine nature of Christ, his people do not: “The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.”

As we greet this Christmas season, let us stop and ponder- how well do we know the Savior? From His birth in the manger crib, to His arduous atonement in the garden, His awful death on the cross, and His awesome resurrection from the grave; do we believe that He did this all for us? And do we believe that what He did is worth celebrating?

According to Isaiah, even the donkeys knew that there was something special about the Christ child. Do we know? The Mormon Third asks again- are you smarter than a donkey? Your Merry Christmas depends on it.
